MR DICKENS IS COMING! and
DOCTOR MARIGOLD *Live Theatre *
With Gerald Charles Dickens
Saturday 31 May 2025

Gerald Dickens is an actor, director and producer specialising in the works of his great-great-grandfather, author Charles Dickens.

A fascination with the life and works of Charles Dickens led Gerald to write his first one-man show, a theatrical performance of A Christmas Carol inspired by Dickens’ own energetic readings of the 1860s. We look forward to his visit to the Great Green Barn where he will perform two shows during the evening, Mr Dickens is Coming! and Doctor Marigold.

THE SIGNALMAN and
SIKES & NANCY *Live Theatre *
With Gerald Charles Dickens

Saturday 1 November 2025

Gerald Dickens is an actor, director and producer specialising in the works of his great-great-grandfather, author Charles Dickens.

Gerald returns to the Great Green Barn with his adaptation of Charles Dickens' most famous and most atmospheric ghost story.  In a deep, damp railway cutting a lonely signalman tells his terrible tale to a complete stranger.  The second play of the evening is Sikes & Nancy, of which Charles Dickens judged the success of his reading by the number of ladies who fainted in horror!
