For Earth's Sake and the Great Green Barn are running a programme of events in their event spaces, orchard and gardens.
Events include theatre, music and performance, workshops and classes, family fun days, meetings for local groups and associations, and a small number of carefully selected hires. We are looking to recruit volunteers to support with this work and ensure the smooth running of events.
A typical shift involves checking tickets, directing customers, serving refreshments, overseeing parking, and helping ensure visitors have a great time at our events. You’ll get to attend events as a volunteer, meet new people and help For Earth's Sake and the Great Green Barn (both not-for-profit organisations) keep costs down whilst continuing to deliver to the local community.
Are you? • Enthusiastic, friendly, and helpful • Have excellent interpersonal skills • Reliable and committed • Comfortable working as part of a team or on their own • Experience of live events helpful but not necessary
Time commitment • Varies depending on the event or activity: Wassailing / Midsummer Revels (occasional Sunday afternoons) Meetings (occasional midweek daytime and evenings) Theatre and music events (occasional Mon-Sat evenings) • Shifts length: 2 - 4 hours
For further information, please drop an email to volunteers @ greatgreenbarn.com and we will get back to you within a few days. Alternatively, drop into For Earth's Sake in Upper House Lane, GU5 0SX during opening hours and we'll take your details and be in touch.
