A celebration of songs and stories inspired by the weather.
The opening show of Vanessa's beautifully restored Great Green Barn is a magical evening of cabaret with the wonderful Anne Reid and Stefan Bednarczyk, an event which is also in memory of Alexander Ford-Robbins.
On arrival, stroll through the gardens with a chilled glass of fruit-laden Pimms or alcohol free British sparkling wine. After taking your seats beneath the great beams of the barn, a three-course Greek meal made by the celebrated Georgios of The Life Goddess (London) will be served (see Menu below). After a short break it will be cabaret time - Turned Out Nice Again, with the wonderful Anne and Stefan celebrating songs and stories inspired by the weather featuring Irving Berlin’s It’s A Lovely Day, and Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer’s Come Rain or Come Shine.

Anne Reid is known and loved through her touching and poignant roles in a host of celebrated TV series and films, including Victoria Wood's sitcom Dinnerladies, Last Tango in Halifax, Ladies of Letters with Maureen Lipman, The Sixth Commandment with Timothy Spall and Sanditon. She won the London Film Critics' Circle Award for British Actress of the Year and received a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in the film The Mother.
Stefan Bednarczyk is well known in the West End and is a regular solo cabaret performer at London's Crazy Coqs, St James’ and Pizza On The Park as well as celebrated cabaret venues around the globe. He appeared in Guildford at the post-lockdown reopening of Yvonne Arnaud in 2021 starring in Hound Of The Baskervilles.
